Interactive Slider Card

Hello!

I've seen these slider cards all of social media, but I have yet to make one myself!  Lisa created a cute one with the Sunny Day and Butterfly Kisses stamp sets.

For the background, she stamped the sentiment, clouds, and sun with the Sunny Day set.  It goes together so well with the butterflies!  I love how the two smaller butterflies are popped up on the card.

The larger butterfly is the one that you can move across the card.  It really gives a whole new meaning to "bringing the card to life!"

Have a great day!

Creating A Sympathy Card

Hello!

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's one day closer to Friday.  Woohoo!

Today I'm sharing a a sympathy card idea.  These are always the hardest cards to make and ones that we never want to have to make.  The Thoughts and Prayers set combined with the Sunny Day set makes it simple and easy to do so.

I heat embossed the flat-bottomed clouds on a piece of watercolor card stock and then watercolored the background with Distress Inks.  I also heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum and cut it out.

I popped up the sentiment with clear foam squares and tied a piece of twine around the top of the card.  The last step was to add a few of the Cloudy Day Sequins.  A quick and easy sympathy card.  You could also create it with a different sentiment from the Thoughts and Prayers set.  There are so many different options.

Have a great day!

NEW RELEASE DAY!

Good Morning!

Yay!  The day is finally here!  The new Christmas Critters and Stocking Peekers sets are now in the Mint Owl Studio Shop.

I mentioned the other day that you can use the Stocking Peekers set for non-Holiday cards too.  Well, I went a little crazy with the cats and added 4 of them to one card.  I colored each of the a different color and peeked them behind some die-cut circles.  I used the sentiment from the Sunny Day set and the clear sequins from the Snowflake mix.

So cute, right?  If you're not a cat person, you could so the same thing with the mouse, dog, or bear.

Have a great day!

Oh Happy Day

 Hello!

I have a fun card to share with you today and it's also a little unexpected.  I bet you're looking at it thinking, what stamp set did she use?  Well, I used the Sunny Day set!  That's right, I stamped all of the hearts on a piece of kraft card stock and heat embossed them with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I then colored them in with colored pencils and gamsol.

I then stamped the sentiment on a label from Lawn Fawn.  The sequins are from the Sunset Sequin Mix.  This would be a perfect wedding card!  How fun to stretch your stamps and use them in a different way!

Have a great day!

Bright Birthday Wishes

 Hello!

First up, I want to announce the winner of the New Release giveaway.  The winner was Melissa Miller!  Yay!  If you weren't the winner, there are still plenty of stamp sets and sequins available for purchase.  It's a great set (if I do say so myself) and I've been using it on so many cards.  I made a shaker card for the post today.

I first die cut a circle in the center of a piece of watercolor card stock.  I then heat embossed the stars with white embossing powder and watercolored around it.  I colored in the rainbow to match the sequins and the clouds in a bright blue.  I also stamped the sentiment inside of the cloud.

I used the Sunset sequin mix to add into the shaker part of my card.  Such a fun color combo!  Don't forget to tag Mint Owl Studio in the photos of your projects on social media.  I would love to see them!

Have a great day!

Silver Lining

Hello!

I just want to take the time to thank everyone for their kind words about my new crafty adventure yesterday.  It means to world to me to have such great supporters in this card-making community.  Also, thank you to everyone that purchased the new stamps and sequins.  You are helping my dream become a reality!  There are still stamps and sequins available, so hopefully this card inspires you to pick some up!

I started with a piece of watercolor card stock and Distress Inks.  I combined the Tumbled Glass and Hickory Smoke Distress Inks with water to create that marbled effect in the background.  I then stamped the clouds and sun from the Sunny Day set with black ink and colored them in with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut them out --I don't have dies for these, but they are super easy to fussy cut-- and adhered them onto my card.

I then stamped the raindrops with gray ink and the sentiment with back ink.  I outlined each of the clouds with silver Stickles to match the sentiment.

If you haven't stopped by yet, I would love if you took a peek in the Mint Owl Studio shop!

It's Open + Giveaway!

Hi Everyone!

The Mint Owl Studio store is now open!  I'll introduce you to the products here and link to each specific product in the store.  It's a small release, but I just want to get my feet wet before diving in head first.

First up is the new stamp set.  This one is called Sunny Day and I had so much fun designing it!  It has some great images that can be used alone or used with other images to create scene cards.  I have used the clouds and sun for backgrounds and they are the perfect size.  It also has some great sentiments for many different occasions.

As you know, I love sequins!  I thought it was only appropriate to create my own mixes that coordinate with the stamp set.  You can used these for shaker cards or to just add a little sparkle to your card.  Don't forget that you can also use just one color from the mix at a time.

The first mix is called Blossom and it is so fun!  There are light pink, green, and yellow 6 mm sequins, along with 10 mm metallic silver butterfly sequins.  These butterfly sequins are awesome!  You are going to love them!

The second mix is called Cloudy Day and it has dark gray, royal blue, and light blue 6 mm sequins.  These work great with the "Every cloud has a silver lining" sentiment.  I also like using the colors individually and the dark gray is my favorite!

The third and final mix is called Sunshine.  It is a mix of bright yellow, red, and peach sequins.  A gorgeous color combination that is sure to brighten your cards and projects!

I want to thank everyone for all of their support so far and kind words about this new adventure.  I hope you love everything as much as I do and I cannot wait to share the fun things to come!  If you have any questions or problems checking out, please email me!

I have a new video up on the Mint Owl Studio YouTube channel introducing this set and a video up on the Tracy Mae Design YouTube channel creating a card with the new products!
