A Latte Holiday Cheer...

Hello!  It is Lisa here today and I am sharing a card I've created with some awesome Mint Owl Studio goodies for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop...

To create this card I stamped my coffee image in the center of a white panel.  Now for my sentiment I used the Coffee Craze Stamp set mixed with the Trim the Tree Stamp Set.  I then used Copic® Markers for the cup and a white gel pen for the dish.  To create a fun bokeh effect I used the circle images from the Trim the Tree Stamp Set and various light inks.  After I diecut the panel I layered it with some Wood Veener (thanks hubby!).

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

How Did You Get So Old?!

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today and I have a sarcastically funny Birthday card to share with you that I made using a mix of stamp sets...

To create this card I started by stamping my sentiment from the Snarky Birthday Sentiments set in the upper left corner.  I then stamped the dinosaur and crutch from the Get Well Critter Stamp Set on the same panel and die cut the bottom at an angle.  After I colored my little scene in with various Copic Markers I decided he needed one more thing... a birthday hat!  So I grabbed my Party Pals set and stamped a little hat to cut out and add to the top of his little head.

I find it so fun to mix and match old and new sets, because you never know where it might lead!

Happy Crafting!

Happy Birthday

Hello everyone,

Coralynn here with a birthday card for you today.

The MOS stamp sets I used for today's card are Happy Moments and Love for Mom.

I stamped the flower on white 110# card stock with intense black ink and coloured them in with my copics.  I fussy cut it out with my scissors and went along the edges with a black Memento marker to clean up the image.

I created the background with a candy striped background stamp and used grey and purple inks.  I used a rectangle die to cut out the plaid panel along with a piece of vellum.

I stamped the sentiment on the vellum with Versafine Onyx black ink and heat embossed with the Wow black embossing powder.  I added the flower with the foam tape to the vellum and I adhered the vellum panel to the plaid panel with liquid adhesive.

I coloured the scalloped frame with the same purples as the flower so they would match and added it to the rest of the panel. I then adhered everything to the card base and added a few finishing touches with enamel dots and a lot of sparkle pen to the flower.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Stay crafty  :)

Dear Santa, is it too late?

Hi everyone,

I'm back with a Christmas card for you today and I chuckle every time I see this sentiment so I thought I would add it to my card.

I cut a piece of patterned paper and cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and cut out a couple of snow drifts with some stitched hills die and cut them out of white card stock.  I added the sentiment to one of the hills and added them everything to the card base with liquid glue and foam tape.

I used the rein deer, sleigh, candy cane, present and the holy from the Dear Santa set and coloured them in with my copics and added some glitter to the sleigh.  You can't have a Christmas card without some glitter. I then added three enamel dots to finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again soon!

29 & Holding

Good morning everyone! It's Cassie here, and I've got a fun card for you all today. Today's card is especially fun for me because it's my dad's birthday card! Today is his actual birthday-what better way to celebrate than a blog post! :)

Here's a look at todays card
This card was fun to make. I love pulling pieces from past sets to put together an adorable scene. I started, as I often do, with a stitched rectangle card base. I also die cut a stitched heart from some Neenah Solar White cardstock. I took the (adorably sweet) sloth from Sloth Hang Out set and stamped him on the center of the heart. I made sure that I didn't ink up the ends of the tree limb because I wanted to extend them to the end of the heart, which I did with a Copic multiliner. I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the edges of the heart with a blender, and Chipped Sapphire to the card base panel. I love these colors together! And, my dad's favorite color is blue so it's perfect in that aspect too.
After the sloth and tree limb were colored, I stamped and colored a bunch of the presents from the I Moose You stamp set and a birthday hat from the Party Pals stamp set. I popped the heart up with some foam tape after splattering some white paint on the card base. Then I attached the present balloons and drew lines for the strings. The final touch was to stamp the sentiment from the Snarky Sentiments set. I love that it says 29 & holding, with a picture of a sloth hanging onto a tree. Too cute! I also added a couple white accents with my white gelly roll pen.

That's it for today! I hope you liked the card. There are so many fun ways to pair the Snarky Sentiments set with loads of the other stamps sets- I can't wait to try more combos! Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you again with another card!

Sparkly Season's Greetings

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you today and I have a super sweet and sparkly Christmas card to share.  This card was created with the new Cardinal Greetings Stamp set and I just love the classic elements in this set and all of the various ways you can use them...

To create this card I started with an oval frame diecut out of the middle of my card front.  I then stamped my bird and tree image onto separate Neenah White Card stock, colored them in with my Copics and white gel pen, and trimmed them out.  These were set to the side while I cut a piece of acetate slightly larger than the oval window and adhered double sided tape to cover the entire piece of acetate.  This too was set to the side while I adhered the tree branch to the backside of the oval, and the bird onto the front side.  The adhesive covered acetate was then laid behind all of this covering the open "window", and then covered with Martha Stewart glitter.  At first I had contemplated using white glitter to give a snow effect, but I felt like it would blend too much into the cardbase and so I chose the blue to really give a pop, and it did!  I then finished the card by stamping the sentiment in a green ink and adhering some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

A party without ice cream...

 Hi everyone,

I'm back with a yummy card for you today.  As much as I love fall and fall cards I also love ice cream and thought I would make a card with the Sweet Treats stamp set and Sprinkles stencil.

I started out with a piece of white card stock and added three colours to some embossing paste.  I used the Sprinkles stencil and added each colour diagonally across the panel. I set that aside to dry.

I then stamped the candy with black copic safe ink and coloured them in and fussy cut them leaving a very small white border.  Mainly because I need to practice my fussy cutting and can never get a nice even edge.  But that's just our little secret.  ;)

I cut out two circles from vellum and on the smaller one I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with cracks me up.  I cut down the embossed panel and added the circles and popped up the candy with foam tape.

That's it for me.  Hope you get some crafty time this weekend!

See you again soon.

I Can Explain!

Hello!  It is Lisa here with you on this lovely Wednesday, and I have a card that is sure to bring a smile to your face because this Reindeer is just too darn cute!

Isn't he adorable?!  You can find him and the sentiment in the Dear Santa Stamp Set.  To create this card I stamped him and the candy cane on a separate card stock, colored them and cut them out.  I then ran my blade along the line of his mouth and slid the candy cane halfway in.  After all he needed to be a little naughty to go with the sentiment hehehe!  I then propped him up on a snowy hill and added various patterned papers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Christmas Blessings

Good morning everyone! It's Cassie here with a cute holiday card. Today I used the stamp set Away In A Manger to create this simple card. I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle for a card panel base. Then I took a stitched heart die I have and cut that in the upper center of the card.

Then I took some pink embroidery floss and stitched in the hearts. I wanted this to be the focus of my card, but I chose a pastel pink to go with the soft color scheme I had in mind. Once that was finished I stamped my image in Momento black in so that I could color it in with Copics. Then I fussy cut it out and popped it up with some foam tape.

Next I stamped my sentiment in some gold embossing powder. And that finished the card! This was such a simple card to put together. The longest part was the stitching, and I find that really relaxing. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you liked the card, and I'll see you again soon with another one!

Deck the Halls CAS Style

Hello!  It is Lisa Lahiff here with you today and I have a CAS Christmas card to share with all of you today using the new Trim the Tree Stamp Set...

To create this card I started with a panel that I stamped the tree branch image onto repeatedly.  I then sprayed this panel with two different green mists and one pearl mist.  I then set this to the side to dry. I stamped, colored and cut the ornament images.  Once everything was dry I layered the images up onto kraft card stock.  I decided to emboss the sentiment in gold in the lower right corner and finished the card off with gold washi and a twine bow.

We can't wait to see what you create with the new sets, and remember there is a Instagram Challenge you can take part in each month too!

Happy Crafting!

INTRODUCTION: Away In A Manger

Hello and eeekkk!!!!  Isn't it so fun to see new stamps being released?!  It's Lisa Lahiff here with you today, and I just LOVE this super cute set called Away in A Manger that I get to show off today!  From the sentiment to the super cute images, how could you not need this in your Christmas making arsenal?  And to really enable you take a look at this adorable card I was able to create with it...

To create this card I started by masking off my background and using various distress inks to create the shine for the star and the night scene around it.  I also did a mix of Masking fluid and white color misting for the white stars in the background.  I then stamped all of my characters and colored them in with various Copic Markers.  After I cut everything out I added them to my "sand" adhering the people with foam adhesive for dimension and the rest of Tombow Mono-liquid Glue.

Make sure you stop back by tomorrow to see the next stamp set reveal!

Another Year Wiser

Hello everyone,

I'm back with a card I created with this adorable Outrageous Owls stamp set.

I started out with the negative pieces from a background die that cut out vertical stripes so I thought I would put them to good use. I took some warm grey inks and blending them from dark to light then I adhered them to the card base.

I coloured in the cool owl and branch with warm grey copics and my new favourite combo (E40, E43, E44 & E49) and he looked like he needed googley eyes so on they went.  I coloured in the heart with R11.

I cut out a circle from a circle die and added the sentiment with Versamark Onyx black ink and added clear embossing powder.  I then added on the owl and branch to the circle and then added tiny dots of glue strategically placed behind the sentiment and images. To finish off the card I added a few grey gems and added some sparkle to the heart on the branch.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Sweet Birthday

Hello everyone!

I'm back with card project for you today.

I got the thought of doing a waffle background and started thinking of how to do it.  A grid stencil will work but for me the lines were too weren't thick enough so I thought of using a very thin washi tape.  I am super excited with how it turned out.  I've added a picture of the background before I removed all the tape.

I used the Ice Cream, You scream stamp set.  This is an older set but still a great one to have in your stash.  I love how the sentiments have two different fonts.  I stamped the images on to heavy card stock with black ink and coloured them in with my copics and added glossy accents to the ice cream.  cut out a banner from black card stock andI then heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing power.  I adhered the banner to the front panel and then the ice cream cone and popsicle to the banner.

For the main image I wanted to do my favourite flavour which is Orange Pineapple so I coloured it in best I could. I recently purchase action wobbles and wanted to use them on this card so I added to the main image and then to the card.

Here is a picture of the background and how I created it.  I used two different brown inks to give it dimension and then removed the washi tape and used a rectangle die to cut it out.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon.

Bunch of Birthday Wishes

Hello Mint Owl Studio friends new and old!  Lisa here with you today and I'm sharing a very clean and simple Birthday card with you...

I love love love this balloon bouquet that is found in the Birthday Bash Stamp Set, because it is so much fun to color!  With just a few markers you can give this image lots of dimension.  To create this card I started by stamping my image and sentiment onto a white panel.  I then ran this panel through my die cutting machine to emboss my frame around the images.  Next, I colored the balloons in with various Copic markers and stamped some confetti from the Party Pals Stamp Set with a light blue ink so that they fade into the background without distracting the recipient.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to share your creations with us using Mint Owl Studio Goodies on any of our social media sites!

VIDEO: Creating a Cloud Background featuring Outrageous Owls

Hi, guys!  Happy Thursday! It's Tara and today I am sharing another fabulous project featuring my favorite stamp set, Outrageous Owls.  These guys just make me happy!  And this set has the best sentiment of all time - You're Owlsome!  Love it!

I wanted to try my hand at creating a fluffy cloud background for these cards.  To do that, I used the largest Puffy Clouds border die from Lawn Fawn to cut a stencil out of some card stock.  You could absolutely just cut some cloud shapes freehand with your scissors and get the same effect!

Once I had my stencil I applied some Distress Ink over the edge all over the background to create a layered look.  Funny story: I thought I was using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and thought it looked a little darker than usual . . . Turns out I had put the wrong lids on last time I used the inks and I was actually using Peacock Feathers!  Oops!  It turned out great though and kept everything really vibrant!

Once the clouds were done I just colored up my images and fussy cut them out.  Everything is popped up with foam tape - even those tiny little leaves!  The inside of the cards is finished off with an edge die cut and that fabulous sentiment!  I love how the edge die cut allows for white space to write a message on the colored card base AND provides part of the sentiment!

I hope you guys enjoyed these fun and outrageous owl cards!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!  Bye!

Rainbow Everything!

Hi all! It's Cassie here, and I'm so excited because today I'm playing along with the Mint Owl Studio Instagram challenge! For August the theme is rainbow. How fun is that?! Let's take a look at the card.

Ta-da!! I was feeling really summery with the rainbow theme, so I took it one step further and added ice cream. How doesn't see an ice cream cone and think of summer? This was actually a pretty easy card to make if you don't mind coloring. (And if you're not a fan of coloring you could always paper piece to get the rainbow instead!)

To start I took the images I wanted from the Ice Cream, You Scream stamp set as well as the Coffee Craze set and laid them out how I wanted them spaced on the card. There was minimal masking to be done so I just used a sticky note where it was needed. Once everything was stamped I went to work with my Copics. Obviously I started with my red/pinks and went all the way to purple. I kept any of the browns the same color to give it a bit of a cohesive look. The ice cream cone on the far left has drips on it and I wanted them all to have that so I added them with a Copic multiliner and colored them in. I stamped my sentiment and added Glossy Accents to all of the ice cream-and that was it!

I hope you'll play along with this challenge! It's so fun and easy AND  you could win a little somethin' something'! Check out the rules below for more details and I'll see with another card soon!
