Mint Owl Studio Intro Week: Trim the Tree!

Hi all! It's Cassie here today with a fun new card! Today is a fun, fun day because I'm sharing a peek at a new stamp set being release for Mint Owl Studio this month. I'm pumped for this set because I can see so many possibilities in it.

Isn't it cute?? Let's take a look at my card.

I started with a piece of water color cardstock. I curved the tree branch so that it looked a little more natural, and stamped it with an ink that works with water color. I colored it in using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. This is seriously my favorite coloring medium right now because it is so easy and the "messy" look is great to hide mistakes. I stamped the light bulbs onto a scrap piece of water color cardstock. I used my Distress Ink markers for these because I wanted a more pastel look.

Instead of using water to move the color on the light bulbs I used my Spectrum Noir shimmer pens so that they were super sparkly. Once they were colored and dry I cut them out and outlined them in black. Then I scattered them on the branches. I put a piece of water color card stock behind the tree piece that was ink blended with distress ink. The entire piece was splattered with white paint. I put the tree panel on the black piece and drew a cord to each of the lights. I used the Packaged Pretty die to high light my sentiment by stamping it on the ribbon die.  And that was pretty much it!

I'm really excited about making some more cards with this set. If I were smart I would've mass produced this one! Stick around for more sneak peeks this week for the big release!
